14 of Lendlease’s commercial buildings in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are now rated. Four of Lendlease’s buildings in Sydney’s Barangaroo South precinct have achieved a Platinum rating, WiredScore’s highest rating for digital connectivity. These include International House Sydney and International Towers 1, 2, 3. The new Circular Quay development and Melbourne Quarter (under construction), have also been given Platinum ratings.

Founded in New York in 2013, WiredScore has since launched in the UK in 2015, followed by expansion into France, Ireland, Germany and Canada. The agreement to rate Lendlease’s buildings has marked WiredScore’s first foray into Australia.

WiredScore rates the digital connectivity of occupied buildings and development projects according to their infrastructure, electrical resiliency, wireless capability, and ease and reliability of connectivity. Ratings are available through a public register, allowing existing/potential tenants to view the quality of connectivity of a commercial building. WiredScore can also work with owners and developers to improve the connectivity of their buildings.

A WiredScore certification also gives landlord and developers an edge by demonstrating to tenants that the office space has a high quality and reliable connectivity. In a research report by WiredScore, it was found that 72% of leasing decision makers feel that a reliable internet connection is extremely critical, with 84% of tenants willing to pay more per square foot for their space if reliable connectivity can be proven.

WiredScore ratings range from Wired Certified to Wired Certified Platinum. A Wired Certified building indicate that the building can support tenant connectivity needs with confidence. A Silver certified building has infrastructure in place to ensure a secure connection, with fiber connectivity being able to support diverse connections. A Gold certified building provides tenants with multiple high-quality internet service providers through a variety of cabling types. A Gold certified building will also consider the connectivity needs of future tenants. A building with a Platinum certification indicates that the building is exemplary across all features of connectivity, and is able to support current and future tenants with the most stringent technology requirements.

In addition to Lendlease’s Platinum certified buildings, other Platinum buildings include the Empire State Building in New York and The Shard in London.
