After experiencing a period of strong growth, this debut forms part of TFE Hotels’ expansion, with the company launching more than 26 hotels across six brands and five countries over the next four years.

CEO of TFE Hotels, Antony Ritch, said “in recent years, we have invested extensively in increasing the experience, liveability and design of our Adina Hotels,” adding that in the coming years, “guests can expect to see cutting-edge design and beautiful showpiece hotels opening across continental Europe.”

Adina Apartment Hotel Vienna Belvedere, with its heated indoor pool and sauna, will be one of seven hotels in Vienna to offer a swimming pool. These will be part of Adina Vienna Belvedere’s wellness area on the light-filled ground floor of Vienna Belvedere, which will also include a lobby, a bar and a small shop. Business travellers will also be able to access a lounge connected to a terrace for small meetings or events.

Adina Vienna Belvedere aims to bring together business, leisure and culture. Its location provides access to the city centre and cultural monuments such as Belvedere Palace, Belvedere Museum and Schweizergarten. A train station near the hotel offers connections to the airport, while a tram stop directly in front of the hotel provides easy access to the surrounding landmarks. 

Mr Ritch commented that Vienna was a logical addition to TFE Hotels’ European Expansion: “Not only is Vienna recognised as having one of the highest ratings for quality of life worldwide, but the high-end segment of the hotel apartment market in Austria is still relatively untapped. This makes it the perfect choice for an Adina hotel.”

“TFE sees our Adina Hotel design concept as a decisive step towards diversifying the existing hotel market, offering discerning travellers a comfortable and stylish alternative to traditional hotels,” said Mr Ritch.

Adina Apartment Hotel Geneva will be within the rapidly developing Quartier de L’Étang development, an 11-hectare lifestyle precinct which is currently the largest private real estate investment in Switzerland. Adina in Geneva will include on-site leisure and service offerings, as well as retail options. In addition to its 140 spacious one and two-bedroom and studio apartment-style hotel rooms, many of which feature views of the alps, it will also include a fitness and wellness facility, 24-hour reception, a restaurant, and a public multi-storey carpark. 

Mr Ritch said that Adina Hotel’s concept of combining the service of a premium hotel with home comforts will fit Geneva’s diverse visitor profile. He explained that by creating living spaces and working environments that were versatile enough for business travel, city trips, solo travellers, couples or families, Adina Hotels can cater to a broad clientele.

Quartier de L’Étang, a former industrial site developed into a new leisure precinct, will include three hotels, retail space, offices, a medical centre, a conference centre, a school, a day-care centre, sports facilities and at least 1,000 residential units. It is situated on the transport axis between the airport, exhibition centre and the city centre, thus making it attractive and convenient for visitors. Adina Geneva combines a desired location with a well-designed contemporary hotel that also offers larger apartment-style hotel rooms.

Mr Ritch commented that TFE Hotels looks forward to having a presence in one of Europe’s strongest hotel markets, adding that “[due to] its status as a global financial centre, a diplomatic centre and a magnet for tourists, Geneva is the natural next step for [TFE Hotels].”

Adina Vienna Belvedere and Adina Geneva will be part of eight hotels due to open in Europe. The other planned European locations include Cologne, Dusseldorf, Freiburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Wiesbaden. This expansion is estimated to almost double TFE Hotels’ rooms in Europe by 2022.

TFE Hotels has an international hotel portfolio across five brands – Adina Hotels, Vibe Hotels, Travelodge Hotels, Rendezvous Hotels, and TFE Hotels Collection. Adina Apartment Hotels are full-service hotels targeting the upmarket segment, offering business travellers, holidaymakers and families the comforts of home as well as space to stretch out. There are currently 15 Adina Apartment Hotels – in addition to Australia and New Zealand, Adina Hotels in Europe include Leipzig, Nuremberg, Copenhagen, Budapest, three hotels in Berlin, two in Frankfurt, and two in Hamburg. By 2025, Adina Apartment Hotels aims to grow to up to 50 hotels in Europe, while also increasing their footprint across Australia.
