The project saw renovations across its 86 studios - one and two-bedroom apartments - which all include new kitchens and laundry facilities.

The group wanted to incorporate a sense of “homely comfort” within the property, which “fuses elegant architecture and contemporary design”, according to TFE Hotels.

This was done through a collaboration between interior designers D’Cruz and TFE’s in-house design team.

The revamped look taps into the character of the beachside neighbourhood, using a colour scheme of earthy grey and caramel tones, as well as teal and navy accents.

This can be seen particularly in the upgraded lobby, conference rooms and the mosaic-tiled swimming pool.

Timber floors and walls coupled with greenery hanging on the walls add a beach house vibe to the property, located 200m from Coogee Beach.

“The refresh of one of our most popular Adina Apartment Hotels in New South Wales coupled with its unbeatable location near the beach provides guests with the ideal place to base themselves when visiting Sydney, hold meetings, or even have a staycation,” said TFE Hotels’ Chairman Allan Vidor.

The refurbishment comes as hotel brands ramp up investments in their properties to appeal to guests and their different lifestyles.

In Sydney, nine lifestyle hotels have opened or been repositioned from existing properties in the past six years, Colliers International research shows.

“Lifestyle hotels are increasingly being used as ‘place makers’, leading to the creation of vibrant accommodation precincts for creatives and tech workers, and a target for visitors,” the agency’s latest Hotel Investment Review wrote.

Nearly 8000 new rooms across 41 hotels are tipped to be delivered in 2019, Tourism Australia’s latest figures show.

TFE is expected to open a 220-apartment property, Adina Apartment Hotel Southbank Melbourne, later this year.
